Dear Cimino Family,
Welcome to the 2018 – 2019 school year! If you are new to Cimino, welcome from the Cimino PTA! If you are returning, welcome back! The Cimino PTA’s mission is to assist our school in enabling our children to achieve their maximum potential. PTA programs are a great way to be a part of what goes on at Cimino — yearlong activities like taking pictures for the yearbook, as well as special events such as the Cougar Challenge Walk-a-thon, Santa Shop and Field Day. None of these functions would be possible or successful without the help of our Cimino family. Your volunteer commitment can be as great or as little as your schedule allows. Whether you can help out at school or from home, weekdays or weekends, any and all help is very appreciated!
All on-campus volunteers are required by the school district to complete a SERVE volunteer application each school year. Go to http://serve.mysdhc.org. Click the Apply button to start the process. Once submitted, the school will receive your results. Even if you have volunteered in the past, you must complete a new form for the 2018 – 2019 school year.
If you would like to be contacted for volunteer opportunities at Cimino, please indicate what you are willing to do. There are two ways to do this. Go online to the PTA website and fill out our Volunteer Interest Form: http://www.ciminopta.com/volunteer-information-form or fill out the attached form and turn it in to your teacher. Your contact information will be added to the volunteer database, and we will keep you updated with more details and reminders as the event or project approaches. We understand that schedules change, so please select any programs that interest you, even if you’re unsure of your ability to fully commit at this time. Filling out the form online, removes the chance of data entry error (especially important for email addresses), so please do that if you can!
This year we will once again be utilizing the website SignUp Genius (www.signupgenius.com) to help us coordinate volunteer time slots and donations. The online process of signing up for an event is very simple, and you are not required to have a SignUp Genius account in order to participate. Only your name and commitment (time or donation item) is seen by other participants/invitees—no other contact information. You will not receive any e-mails (including spam) from SignUp Genius other than the specific event signup e-mail, any changes to the event signup, and a single reminder prior to the event. We hope everyone will find this online method a convenient way to see what’s available, what’s needed, and signup! If you have any questions about the signup process or privacy concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or the organizing event chairperson for more information.
